  Medicare
As an employer, you are required to withhold an additional 0.9% on all Medicare taxable wages and compensation paid to an employee in excess of $200,000.  Thus, you must have the Medicare Employee Addl Tax payroll item set up and assigned to each and every employee for QuickBooks to calculate and track wages for reporting accurately.   Action Required: If you do not have the Medicare Employee Addl Tax set up and assigned to your employees, please refer to the detailed Additional Medicare Tax User Guide for QuickBooks for the 3 steps you need to take now to set up this employee tax in QuickBooks.
